About me
Hello. My name is Tim Smith and I play the guitar. I have been playing for several years now and really enjoy it. A few years back, I realized a "bucket list" item - I played at my first Open Mic Nite! Since then, I have played several others and I am enjoying every minute of it. I try to get a video of each song I play. I have been posting them to social media for several years now. It's about time I did something like this....
In addition to my social media postings, I will be uploading my live and somewhat-live performances here as well. These include my "Nice Guys with Cool Guitars Singing Awesome Songs with OK Voices" series as well as others.
Many of the videos will be in standard definition and not always the best for web viewing. How can you get around that? By coming out to see my performances live!

Venues
Housatonic River Brewing - Located in New Milford CT, HRB (a.k.a. "Housy", "HRB") opened in 2018. You can read more about them here. Note: Sadly, HRB has discontinued their Open Mic Nite evenings. This is particularly sad to me as this was my bucket list location for my first-ever Open Mic. I am hoping the owners will reconsider and reinstate this fun evening in the future.
UPDATE: As of March 2024, HRB has reinstated Open Mic Nites - now happening on the last Thursday of each month. So very happy to be part of the circuit once again!
"Hootenanny" at the Washington Depot Farmers Market - This was a brand new initiative started in 2022 by the folks in Washington Depot. The goal of the Hootenanny was to have a place where musicians can gather and have some fun. In addition, as spectators came up, they would be asked if they play, and if so, there were always extra instruments available for impromptu jam session.
Woodbury Brewing Company - Located in Woodbury, CT. This is only the 2nd Open Mic Nite location that I performed at.

- Twelve Moons Coffee shop located in Falls Village, CT. They have their Open Mic Nite the first Saturday of the month. What makes this place interesting is that the Open Mic is the "opening act" for the headline performer for the evening.
- The Merryall Center, located in New Milford, CT has reinstated their Open Mic Nite evenings. Their first one was on July 17, 2023. They have two more announced on their website (8/15/23 and 8/29/23). Check out their website for more information.
